Deluxe Trunk Case With Special Order Features

Premium leathers such as Cape Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino, Alligator and many others may be used for binding the exterior of your case.  Case frames and wood trim are available in many exotic woods.  Fitted tools may be made with our standard Ebony and  Rosewood or ivory, horn, Coco-Bola and Padouk.  Brass furniture can be engraved and custom lid-mounted nameplates may be made to order in any size, shape and material.  Gold-embossed leather and parchment labels can be fitted inside the lid with any text or logo.  Almost any item may be fitted into the interior along with the firearm.  Prices quoted on request.

Standard Case

This is our standard take-down case configuration with tools fitted into a lift-out tray plus an oil bottle and snap caps.  Standard case includes grade 1 top-grain cowhide, polished ash frame and trim and fitting to the customer's specifications.

Case for pair of side-by-side shotguns. Larger bore barrels are usually fitted on their side to conserve space.  Over/under barrels are normally fitted with the ribs up.

Slant Front or "Coffin" Case

For those desiring a case of minimum weight and dimension with few or no accessories, we have recreated an early style trapezoidal case commonly known as a "Coffin Case". By fitting shotgun barrels on their side with the forearm attached, this style case can be made about fifteen percent smaller than a standard trunk case.

Customer-supplied tools and accessories may be fitted in a variety of configurations, usually in a layout that will utilize the least amount of space within the case, as seen here.  While we offer a good variety of basic cleaning and maintenance tools, we can often special order bespoke items from gun makers and tool suppliers.

This is the strongest and most convenient configuration for casing guns and pairs of guns with multiple barrels and large numbers of extra items such as scopes, tools, cleaning and loading implements, etc. A very wide flat case (wider than about twelve inches) can be inconvenient to access and carry and can be vulnerable to breakage at the hinge line when the lid is open and back against it's stops. The bottom tier may be partitioned to carry cartridges so long as the weight factor is considered. Campaign style flush brass handles may be fitted at each end for ease of transport.

 
Shown here is a single gun with two sets of barrels fitted into a two-tier tray case.  While a bit heavier than a flat trunk case for the same gun, it has a much smaller footprint and is a sturdy design for hunting trips and hard travel.

Take-down bolt rifles may be fitted into a trunk case, motorcase or two-tier case with any number of accessories. 

All cases since serial number 1530 now come with a brass beveled diamond nameplate.  It is removable for engraving

Padded canvas outer cover fitted to shotgun case. Waterproof mail canvas with leather corners and piping, heavy brass zipper, dense felt lining and leather nameplate for embossed initials. Pictured here is a custom brass hammer (for seating and removing choke tubes), a custom hex driver and a shotgun chamber brush.  Any number of special-use tools may be made to order and fitted into our ebony handles.

Flush-fitted campaign handles may be fitted to any motorcase, lift-out tray case or deep two rifle chest.

Trade labels may be inset and surrounded by a polished oak frame as illustrated. This treatment is seen in many nineteenth century cases, especially those for Rigby, Alex Henry and Manton.
